If you have never viewed a smackdown…

do it now.

One of my favorite guys on the Interent is Jim Edwards and his Niche Advertising Secrets. He knows his stuff and gets his message across in such a unique way that it’s no wonder he has tons of followers!

In one of his most recent posts, he talks about some rather unscrupulous characters that are going to ClickBank, finding good selling books, rewriting them for themselves (often times without changing much) and the reselling them on the market as their own.

A side note: ClickBank is one of the best ways to sell your e-book if you have (or plan to) write one.

This makes me nearly ill and is close to my heart because I have been working on an e-book especially for new WAHMs and Dads that explains clearly how to start an online business.

I will be giving this away to my newsletter subscribers for free but plan on selling it for a decent amount of money on ClickBank – it contains over 10 years of Internet experience so you can probably see why I don’t want to give it away to everyone.

But I digress…

I’m concerned as well and rightly so as you can imagine.

The Friday Night Smackdown has some “adult” language in the video so I don’t suggest you watch it with your kids but it is very enlightening and entertaining as well as only Jim can do it and he brings to light a very powerful message.

Are you a real person?

People are tired. Tired of being pushed over by large corporations that give you automated phone systems and cold sales calls. Have you noticed that at times now you don’t even get a real person doing the telemarketing? It’s a recorded voice!

People (like you and me) want warm. We want to know that someone really is there on the other side of things and does care about you. They want to know that you are focused on them.

People are selfish. You are selfish, I am selfish. It is in our nature to be selfish and I can hear you do-gooders out there completely denying that you are not selfish (yes, I can hear you even from here) but you can’t tell me that you haven’t lied before to get out of a family reunion or faked an illness because you needed a “mental day off” from work. This is being selfish.

However, because we know this about ourselves, we are better able to give people what they want when we build our business. And to do this, your visitors need to know that they are reading something that a real person wrote and that this real person will help them if they ask them to do so.

I will.

Will you offer this to your site visitors? You should. And most importantly, you should follow through with it. Walk the walk dear friends. If you fail to do this you will fail miserably in your business ventures.

All the best,
Kristine
