Well, it was bound to happen….

Filed under: I-Guides, Internet Business, SEO, Search Engines, WAHM — Kristine - A WAHM @ 7:18 am

I have been talking about the I-Guides for quite awhile now but was approached around the same time to write a guide on simply “Search Engine Marketing” and so I have also been working hard on that as well.

Needless to say, the I-Guides won’t be released until after the 1st of the year – we’ll let you know :-) but if you’re just itching to get your hands on a step-by-step process about Marketing online – this will be available within the next three weeks via eBay.

It will not be free but I will be sure that it gets sold at a very low price so that everyone can afford it! I guarantee that absolutely NO ONE will have access to this book before it goes on sale so you will know it’s fresh and new. Being as it will be something that no one has ever done before (at least to my knowledge) …

…as I knock on wood :-)

If I may rant for a moment…

…I get tired, just like you do of hearing that the “next best thing” is coming out. As if there is some big secret that no one else knows about that you simply have to pay $1,200/month for or you won’t know what everyone else does!

Nothing like playing on your fears is there?

The bottom line is that there is no secret. There are certain steps that you can take to assure your success and they are all pretty easy to implement.

You need to know what these are, yes but they are no secret.

I simply can’t give this away for free. What good is 12 years of learning on the Internet if you’re just going to hand it over to someone right?

What I can do however, is give you some things *in addition* to the book about marketing online.

Keep an eye out here and we’ll let you know when the book becomes available via eBay and how you can get it along with the free stuff to boot.

So keep an eye out here and we’ll keep you informed!

All the best to you,
Kristine

My Apologies…

Filed under: I-Guides, Internet Business, Marketing, SEO, Tools, WAHM — Kristine - A WAHM @ 7:11 pm

It has been a whirlwind of a couple of weeks. In addition to writing the I-Guides for those of you new to the Internet business world I have also been asked to take up teaching a class online for basic SEO and traffic techniques. Due to the fact that these will be taking place fairly soon, the I-Guides won’t be released until sometime in November. However, if you are one of the ones on the newsletter list, you will be the very first ones to know about the SEO & marketing classes in addition to when the I-Guides are released.

It has taken up quite a bit of my time, so my apologies for not posting as often as I do. I will however, give you a great free tip since your patience has been absolutely wonderful!

I don’t really like the word “spying” but essentially that is what you have to do with your compeition if you want to find out what they are doing and figure out how to do it five times better.

That is why the Search Status tool is so great.

You’ll be able to get all kinds of information about your competition including what keywords they use for their website, to historical website data, their PageRank, their Alexa Ranking and so much more.

It’s a free plug-in for Firefox browsers and you can get it at http://www.quirk.biz/download-searchstatus.

We’ll see you on the newsletter list!

Until next time,
Kristine

Be Cautious!

Filed under: I-Guides, Internet Business, Marketing, WAHM, affiliate programs — Kristine - A WAHM @ 6:58 am

It’s not often that I sound off about some fellow Internet Marketer’s new business idea but I simply can’t keep quiet about a few new “products” on the Internet.

I probably get more email about new products that anyone outside of the Internet marketing world.  “Secrets Revealed!”, “Instant Website Builder!”, “Top Ranking Methods Revealed!”…if you had any idea how many of these I got on a weekly basis it would probably make your head spin.

Why do I subscribe to these seemingly useless and irritating emails?

I would not be a very good Internet marketer  if I didn’t keep an eye out on my “competition” although these days it doesn’t seem difficult to keep a more professional profile than the “other guys”.

What I’d like you to take away from today is this.

There are no “secrets”.  No one out there has some sure-fire way of putting thousands of dollars instantly into your pocket.  Just like any business, it takes work and time to develop your business.  I don’t know how often I’ve said that.

Then why are these tactics so effective?

Because most people are lazy (yes, it’s true! *shock*).  They want something now, today and yesterday.  And that is why these programs are so appealing.  They give the impression that by purchasing their “product” or what is even more popular nowadays, their “service” where they guide you for a monthly fee (the most recent one over $700 a month) through their process that turned them into millionaires that you too will achieve the same success.

Now, in their defense, some of these people ARE real people who have made millions of dollars on the Internet.   And I’m not saying that they don’t have knowledge to share.

What I am saying is that most of it is common sense.  It’s a simple business structure and with a little research and guidance you can in fact duplicate the efforts of some of these programs.

It’s a shortcut.

The problem is though, some would have you believe that these “steps” are worth thousands of dollars.

The first program I saw blew me out of the water a few months back – and that one cost about $400/month.

This second one, $700.

What will the next one be?  $1,000?  $2,000?

There is such a thing as “perceived value”.  The more expensive something is, the more credence people tend to give it.  It could be the crappiest thing in the world but “…it cost $5,000 so it MUST be good…”

And the programs that “instantly create” templates for you to throw up quickly made websites in an effort to make as much money as quickly as possible are purely out to prey on those of you who want the quick buck.

The problem is that even though the quick buck does happen sometimes, it is short-lived.  You aren’t creatng a business but rather are something akin to the guy selling Blu Blocker sunglasses at the gas station on the corner.

Proceed with caution.

Know that even though it is a good thing to receive guidance, you don’t need to spend an arm and a leg for it.

Also know that quick and easy will not earn you a long-term income.  If you are looking for something that will sustain you for years to come and make all the Search Engines happy, quick and dirty is NOT the way to go.

I welcome your opinions and thoughts.  Have a bad experience?  Have a good experience?  Let us know!

So What’s a Name Squeeze Page Anyway?

Filed under: I-Guides, Internet Business, Marketing, Traffic, WAHM, e-book — Kristine - A WAHM @ 1:30 am

Hello Everyone!

I know it’s been awhile since we’ve added something new here and I certainly don’t wish to sound like a broken record but we are incredibly busy with our I-Guides for you. What started as a basic e-book has grown into a set of I-Guides (short for Information Guides) and we’re planning on releasing the very first one at the end of October.

We’ve also got some promotional ideas in mind for our newsletter subscribers so if you aren’t a member yet, you’ll want to be sure you sign up to find out what all the hoopla is about once we’re ready to release the first I-Guide.

Alrighty then, this post actually comes from a question that I received via email:

“Can you tell me what “Name Squeeze” pages are? I’ve also heard the term “LPC” pages which sound like they’re similar. Are they? What in the world are these?”

Name withheld

My Reply:

Name Squeeze and LPC (also known as “Lead Capture Pages” ) are in fact, one in the same. Essentially it is a page that you set up on your website that you direct people to where they have to perform some kind of action (in this case give their name and email address) in order to receive a freebie, more information, just about anything.

These have really grown in popularity over the past year or so and mainly because they work so well. However, if you happen to use Google’s AdWords program just know that they have cracked down on advertisers using these kinds of pages when placing an Ad with Google. Google still allows these pages but they are charging much more per click than they used to.

We believe it is in an effort to weed out the “wannabes” from the real online marketers.
I hope this clears it up for you.

Until next time,

Kristine
